Niesteroidowe leki przeciwzapalne (NLPZ, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) są jedną z najczęściej wykorzystywanych grup leków w farmakoterapii okulistycznej. Zarówno liczne wskazania do stosowania NLPZ, jak i rola prostaglandyn w patomechanizmie chorób narządu wzroku sprawiają, że grupa tych leków wciąż się rozwija. Lekarz okulista ma do dyspozycji kilka NLPZ, które różnią się między sobą głównie parametrami farmakokinetycznymi. Ich wybór powinien być zindywidualizowany, w każdym odrębnym przypadku należy wdrożyć najskuteczniejszy i najbezpieczniejszy lek.

Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) are one of the most commonly used groups of drugs in ophthalmic pharmacotherapy. Numerous indications for the use of this group of drugs as well as the role of prostaglandins in the pathomechanism of the formation of eye diseases make this group of drugs still developing. The ophthalmologist has several NSAIDs available, which differ mainly in pharmacokinetic parameters. The choice of NSAIDs should be individualized to select the most effective and safest drug for a particular patient.
