The rich vascular flora of the Wierzyca valley also includes plants
of segetal communities. Among them are common species, as well as some of the
species that are endangered or threatened on a national scale (Warcholińska
1994). The Wierzyca valley provides a refuge for them in the Gdańsk region
(Buliński 1993, 1994a). The protection of these plants, preventing, among other
things, the use of chemicals in agriculture, may save the rare species of segetal flora
from extinction (Buliński 1995).
