The aim of this elaboration is the presentation of research out carried in Agrocenology Department of Ecology Institute of Polish Academy of Science, on the ecology and biology of several species of entomopathological fungi (Beauveria bassiana, Paecilomyces farinosus, P.fumosoroseus and Verticillium lecanii) and attempts of their application in the biological fight against plant pests. Problems including the occurence of entomopathogenic fungi in Poland, their activities in relation to insects, the choise of the most profitable culture media, the methods of fight against the pest, the reactions to antropogenic pollutions and repellent properties of the fungi have been discussed. The laboratory (semi - technical) and industrial methods of the production of fungal preparations have been discussed.
