Notes on zooplankton of some water bodies of the village Zubrzyca Gorna (southern Poland)

The present work reports a recent preliminary analysis of the zooplanktonic organisms in selected water bodies of the village Zubrzyca Gorna in the Orawa valley. As far as the genus Paramecium is concerned, Paramecium caudatum was found. No species of the Paramecium aurelia complex were recorded although in previous years Paramecium biaurelia and P. novaurelia were found in the Orawa valley waters. It seems that the absence of species of the aurelia complex in a given water body may be caused by an increase in the water acidity.
