Availability of rehabilitation services in stationary care as an element nursing geriatric care

Wstęp
Niezależnie od teorii i mechanizmów starzenia procesy te powodują zmiany organiczne oraz funkcjonalne prowadzące niejednokrotnie do niepełnosprawności, gdzie istotną rolę odgrywa rehabilitacja.
Cel pracy
Próba oceny dostępności do świadczeń rehabilitacyjnych, ich skuteczności oraz zakresu niezbędnej opieki pielęgniarskiej u pacjentów w wieku 65 lat i więcej leczonych na Oddziale Rehabilitacyjnym Centrum Kom-pleksowej Rehabilitacji w Konstancinie-Jeziornej.
Materiał i metody
W badaniu wzięło udział, losowo wybranych, 150 pacjentów w wieku 65 lat (62,7%, czyli 94 osoby to kobiety oraz 56 osób – 37,3% to mężczyźni) leczonych na Oddziale Rehabilitacyjnym. W badaniu wykorzystano autorski kwestionariusz ankiety składający się z 21 pytań. Udział w badaniu był dobrowolny i anonimowy, o czym poinformowano przed badaniem osoby nim objęte, po wcześniejszym otrzymaniu pisemnej zgody od dyrekcji placówki, gdzie przeprowadzono badanie.
Wyniki
Wykazano występowanie zależności pomiędzy powodem leczenia na oddziale rehabilitacyjnym, a wiekiem pacjentów. Jednak w pozostałych obszarach badanych zaobserwowano brak występowania zależności po-między ilością pobytów na oddziale rehabilitacji czy też częstością korzystania z rehabilitacji stacjonarnej a miejscem zamieszkania respondentów. Zdaniem większości pacjentów objętych badaniem najlepsze efek¬ty przynosi rehabilitacja stacjonarna (50,2% wszystkich ocen), na kolejnych pozycjach pacjenci wskazali ośrodek dzienny (20,3%), rehabilitację domową (15,9%) i ambulatoryjną (13,6%). Wykazano brak występo¬wania zależności pomiędzy oceną dostępności do różnych form rehabilitacji czy też rodzajem pozytywnych efektów przynoszonych przez rehabilitację a wiekiem pacjentów objętych badaniem.
Wnioski
Dostępność do świadczeń rehabilitacyjnych w opiece stacjonarnej jest zadowalająca, stanowi niezbędny ele-ment opieki geriatrycznej i jest niezależna od wieku pacjentów czy miejsca zamieszkania.

Introduction
Regardless of the theory and mechanisms of ageing, the processes of ageing cause organic and functional changes often leading to disability, where rehabilitation plays an important role.
Objective of the work
The aim of the study was to evaluate the availability of rehabilitation, its effectiveness and the scope of nec-essary nursing care for patients at the age of 65 and more treated in the Rehabilitation Department of the Comprehensive Rehabilitation Center in Konstancin-Jeziorna
Research material and methods
The study involved 150 patients aged 65 years (62.7%, 94 were women and 56 – 37.3% men) treated in the Rehabilitation Department, who were randomly selected. The study used a proprietary the authors’?? questionnaire consisting of 21 questions. Participation in the study was voluntary and anonymous for the patients who were informed about this fact before the study. The study was conducted after receiving prior written approval from the management of the Comprehensive Rehabilitation Center.
Results
A correlation between the reason for treatment in the rehabilitation center and the age of patients was proven. However, with regard to other objective of the study, there was no relationship between the number of stays in the rehabilitation center or the frequency of using stationary rehabilitation and the place of resi-dence of the respondents. According to the majority of patients taking part in the study, stationary rehabili-tation brings the best results (50.2% of all assessments), followed by daily centre (20.3%), home (15.9%) and ambulatory (13.6%) rehabilitation. There was no correlation between the patient’s perception of accessibility of various forms of rehabilitation or outcomes of various types of rehabilitation, and the age of patients in this study.
Conlcusions
The availability of rehabilitation services in stationary care is satisfactory and is an indispensable element of geriatric care. Patients’ satisfaction is independent of the age of patients or their place of residence.
