Using the energy loss rate in the process μ^{+} + e^{-} → ν_{e} + ν̅_{µ} we develop a model which formulates the jump rate for muon diffusion in metals platinum, lead and metallic compounds ZrV_{2}, Hf_{2}Co and V_{3}Si. The jump rate is found to follow an Arrhenius-like relation over some temperature ranges.
