This work presents, in the form of a clinical study, materials from diagnostic and therapeutic meetings with a 23-year-old woman with Down syndrome. She was applied to the Academic Centre of Psychological Help with concerns for her surroundings the symptom – under controlled shouts and with psychiatric diagnosis of obsessive-compulsive disorder and hyperactivity disorder. All symptoms coincided in the time of the patient’s entry in her adolescent period, until this time her development ran correctly. The goal of the study is the analysis of wide conditioning of psychopathological symptoms presented by patient within perspective of clinical psychology. Interpretation of the patient’s symptoms was based on theory of psychosexual development by Kooecielska, the theory of attachment by Bowlby and the regulative theory of temperament by Strelau. It was put the thesis about development of psychopathological symptoms as a result: of the patient’s basic needs deprivations, frustration of psychosexual development, interrupted attachment and specific interactions between the mental handicap as a result of Down syndrome and the temperament, heightening the patient’s clinical pathological presentment. In the face of the impossibility of practical verification of the thesis put forth, in result of a lack of social and family support, the therapeutic meetings were suspended.

Praca prezentuje w formie studium klinicznego materiał ze spotkań diagnostyczno-terapeutycznych z 23-letnią kobietą z zespołem Downa. Pacjentka zgłosiła się do Akademickiego Centrum Pomocy Psychologicznej z objawem uciążliwego dla otoczenia krzyku, nad którym nie miała kontroli, oraz z diagnozą psychiatryczną zaburzenia obsesyjno-kompulsywnego oraz nadpobudliwości psychoruchowej. Wszystkie symptomy chorobowe zbiegły się w czasie z wejściem pacjentki w okres dojrzewania, do tego momentu rozwój przebiegał prawidłowo. Studium ma na celu analizę szerokich uwarunkowań prezentowanych przez pacjentkę objawów psychopatologicznych z perspektywy psychologii klinicznej. Interpretację symptomów oparto na teorii rozwoju psychoseksualnego Kościelskiej, teorii przywiązania Bowlby’ego oraz regulacyjnej teorii temperamentu Strelaua. Postawiono tezę o rozwoju symptomów psychopatologicznych w wyniku niezaspokojenia podstawowych potrzeb pacjentki, udaremnienia rozwoju psychoseksualnego, zaburzonej więzi oraz specyficznej interakcji upośledzenia umysłowego w wyniku zespołu Downa i temperamentu, potęgujących patologiczny obraz kliniczny chorej. W obliczu niemożności praktycznej weryfikacji postawionej tezy, w wyniku braku wsparcia społecznego i rodzinnego zawieszono spotkania terapeutyczne.
