Antropogeniczne zmiany klimatu związane z szybkim wzrostem zużycia paliw kopalnych przyczyniają się do poszukiwań nowych form wytwarzania energii elektrycznej i ciepła oraz ograniczenia destrukcyjnego wpływu odpadów na środowisko naturalne. Znaczna ilość odpadów pochodzących zarówno z upraw rolniczych, jak i hodowli zwierząt gospodarskich stanowi poważny problem ich dalszego zagospodarowania. Jednym z rozwiązań może być zwiększenie liczby biogazowni rolniczych, dzięki którym z odpadów rolniczych produkowany jest biogaz, a z pozostałości pofermentacyjnej wartościowy nawóz, poferment. W pracy przedstawiono zagadnienia związane z wykorzystaniem masy pofermentacyjnej jako nawozu organicznego oraz omówiono korzyści środowiskowe wynikające ze stosowania tego typu nawożenia, szczególnie w gospodarstwach ekologicznych.

Anthropogenic changes of climate, related to the rapid increase in consumption of fossil fuels, call for the search of new forms of energy and heat production, and reduction of the destructive impact of wastes on the environment. Growing amount of wastes from both agricultural and livestock production poses a major problem for further development of farming. One of solution of the problem might be an increase in the number of biogas power plants producing biogas from agricultural wastes and valuable fertilizer product - post-fermentation pulp. The article presents issues related to the use of the post-fermentation pulp as an organic fertilizer and discusses environmental benefits from use of this kind of fertilizer especially in organic farms.
