Systemy wartości osób z niepełnosprawnością odwzorowują ich funkcjonowanie, uwzględniające nie tylko uwarunkowania psychofizyczne, ale również determinanty społeczno-kulturowe. Badania struktury tych systemów mogą być prowadzone pod względem rodzaju, miejsca, treści poszczególnych wartości, a także ich funkcji. Najbardziej adekwatną metodą w tego typu badaniach jest metoda biograficzna, która pozwala uchwycić znaczną ilość różnorodnych doświadczeń osobistych, wchodzących w sieć relacji, zależności oraz oddziaływań wzajemnych między składnikami systemu, jak i systemem jako całością. Badania systemów wartości osób z niepełnosprawnością mogą poprawić funkcjonowanie samych niepełnosprawnych, jak i ich relacje z innymi jednostkami oraz instytucjami społecznymi.

The systems of values of people with disability reflect their entire functioning which takes into account not only psychophysical conditions but also socio-cultural determinants. Research into the structure of those systems can be carried out with regard to the kind, place and content of the values in question as well as their function. The most adequate method in this kind of research is biographical method, which allows one to capture a significant number of various personal experiences inscribed into a net of relationships, dependencies and mutual influences among the parts of the system as well as between the parts and the system as the whole. Reserarch into the systems of values of the people with disability could improve the functioning of the disabled themselves and their relations with other individuals and social institutions.

Artykuł ukazuje genezę i rozwój Polskiego Towarzystwa Walki z Kalectwem w Polsce (PTWK)- ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem zrealizowanych najważniejszych działań. Na przykładzie Gorzowa Wielkopolskiego ukazane zostało tworzenie struktur terenowych. Praca przygotowana została w oparciu o metodologię badań historycznych. Przeprowadzono analizę źródeł historycznych, aktów normatywnych, prasy, sprawozdań, wspomnień i relacji ustnych oraz istniejącej literatury. Dotychczas problematykę genezy i rozwoju Polskiego Towarzystwa Walki z Kalectwem podejmował w swoich opracowaniach Henryk Waszkowski. W niniejszym artykule wykorzystane zostały takie metody badawcze jak: metoda analityczna, syntetyczna, porównawcza, indukcyjna oraz dedukcyjna. Przeprowadzone procesy opierały się na istniejących źródłach oraz dogłębnej analizie przedmiotu. Przedstawione fakty podlegały wielokrotnej i kilkuetapowej weryfikacji. Chociaż na przestrzeni ponad sześćdziesięciu lat istnienia PTWK zauważa się pewne przeobrażenia w zakresie jej funkcjonowania, niemniej jednak stale aktualne pozostawało hasło: „najlepszym lekarstwem jest ruch i aktywność”. Organizacja ta odegrała ważną rolę w zakresie promowania i rozwoju rehabilitacji, rekreacji ruchowej, turystyki osób z niepełnosprawnościami oraz kształcenia i doskonalenia kadr w tym zakresie. Działania prowadzone na poziomie oddziałów regionalnych na przestrzeni kolejnych dziesięcioleci odpowiadały na potrzeby społeczności lokalnych. Umożliwiały zaspokajanie rozmaitych potrzeb osób doświadczających obniżenia sprawności spowodowanej niepełnosprawnością.

The paper presents the origins and development of the Polish Society for Rehabilitation of the Disabled (PTWK) focused on key activities. Organizing the local structures was shown on the example of Gorzów Wielkopolski. The paper was prepared based on the methodology of historical research. The author studied historical sources, normative acts, press, reports, memoirs and oral accounts, and available literature. So far Henryk Waszkowski has written a few articles on the origin and development of the Polish Society for Rehabilitation of the Disabled. This paper uses such research methods as analytical, synthetic, comparative, inductive and deductive. The processes were based on existing sources and in-depth analysis of the subject. The facts have been verified repeatedly and in several stages. Even though PTWK has undergone transformations over the sixty years of its existence, the motto "the best cure is movement and activity" always stay valid. The organization has been important in the promotion and development of rehabilitation, physical recreation, tourism for people with disabilities, as well as in the education and training of professionals. The activities carried out at the level of the regional branches in the following decades responded to the needs of the local communities. The activity guaranteed the various needs of people with disabilities.

Increasing amount of disabled, severe ill and older people causes growth of demands for various kinds of wheelchairs. No doubts it is conducive to automation and robotization of wheelchairs and their integration into wider environments designed to support disabled people. Presented solutions serve to support and independency of the person. Main directions of development modern wheelchairs are as follows: - power wheelchairs with advanced and sophisticated driving system, including all wheel driven, caterpilar tracks, special rollers etc., - control systems, including both newest solutions for conventional joystick control, control with any part of users body and sophisticated voice control system, Brain Computer Interfaces, intelligent wheelchiars avoiding obstacles etc. - increase of comfort for user including automatic adjustment, easy-to-use set-up and special functions made wheelchair friendly during long use, - integration of wheelchaior and its user with wireless nets, mobile comms systems, GPS etc. - robotization of wheelchairs, which allows to perform with wheelchair another functions, eg. stair climbing, balance position etc. and makes possible use of wheelchair-side robots accompanied by bed-side robots. It makes easier to use wheelchairs by active users in developed countries. Poor countries need another apporach, decreasing prices and increasing accessibility to wheelchairs. Further wheelchairs development depends partly on their interoperability within smart home systems, augmented reality systems and ambient intelligence systems. All these systems contains solutions (both hardware and software) dedicated to disabled, severe ill and older people, significantly increasing their possibilities and independence. Joined together, thanks to effect of synergy, it can be more effective and much chiper compared with traditional (current) solutions. Moreover growth of people, who needs care probably will cause shortage of qualified medical staff, especially physicians, physiotherapists and nurses. In significant percent of causes integrated solutions can relieve them, even if partly only. Broad offer of possibilities causes neccesity to provide professional selection of the wheelchair. Even the best solution, but unsuiltable or improperly adjusted can cause dislike of user and be his/her another limitation.

The use of a computer may give disabled people independence, a feeling of increased productivity and an increased sense of self-respect. Thus there is a constant need to train disabled people in the use of computers and associated assistive technology. This task contitutes an enormous challenge because of both the increasing number of disabled people and the ageing population. This article aims at investigating the extent to which the available opportunities in this area are being exploited.

Wykorzystanie komputera może dać osobie niepełnosprawnej niezależność, poczucie zwiększonej produktywności oraz wzrost szacunku do samego siebie. Istnieje zatem stała potrzeba wdrażania osób niepełnosprawnych w użycie komputerów oraz rozwiązań dostosowujących komputery do potrzeb osób niepełnosprawnych. Stanowi to ogromne wyzwanie w związku z rosnącą liczbą osób niepełnosprawnych oraz starzeniem się społeczeństwa. Artykuł stanowi próbę oceny stopnia wykorzystania możliwości w omawianym zakresie.
