This Project was started at the beginning of a new, 21st century, after realizing the first scientific visit of the second author to India. By the end of the twentieth century, the 2nd author first visited Bombay, to discover the natural beauty and exotics of this sub-continent. That time, there was a scientist as a Polish Consul in Bombay, Dr. Krzysztof Majka, coming from the Koszalin University of Technology (KUT), and he received a visit there of the 2nd author, Prof. Tadeusz Hryniewicz. Over a decade later, the first author of this book decided to join the Surface Electrochemistry Division at the KUT for his PhD studies. In 2006, the authors started to develop a Project concerned with the use of the natural rubber to the new sources of energy. That year, a scientific expedition to the natural rubber (Hevea brasiliensis) plantation in Ranni, Kerala State on the south-west India, was carried out. The aim of this expedition was to receive a natural rubber and bring it back under natural state to Poland in view of performing an electrochemical modification for further studies in view of application//using the modified layouts//systems of conductive natural rubber. This work is to present also natural, sightseeing, tourist, and environmental elements of the beautiful natural geography of West India.
The Warsaw-Berlin ice-marginal valley is very important element of the lowland landscape in the interior of Poland. This landform has composite geological structure and tessellated collocation of habitats. The valley bottom is wide (1,2–5 km) and composed of two surfaces: fragment of sandy terrace and flood plain. Peat bogs cover large areas in two sections of the valley bottom. These conditions had an influence on the development of settlement. The article presents the environmental conditions of small towns location in the bottom of ice-marginal valley. The topographical situations of ten small towns have been analyzed. An analysis of various elements of the natural environment shows that the main consideration in locating small towns was their geomorphological and hydrological situation. Most small towns were located on a high slope of the ice-marginal valley bottom, only one town was built on both river banks. The natural environment of ice-marginal valley bottom is a barrier to spatial development of small towns. Valuable natural environment is preserved in bottom of ice-marginal valley therefore the towns location was described in the context of protected areas (landscape park, Natura 2000 areas). Small towns and natural environment of the ice-marginal valley bottom create harmonious landscape.

Małe miasta i środowisko przyrodnicze dna pradoliny tworzą harmonijny krajobraz.
For Early Medieval societies areas with high geo- and biodiversity were most suitable for settlement, whereas preferred landforms included river terraces formed by medium and fine sand. The analysis conducted by the Author resulted in elaboration of the terrain assessment maps, which were derived from a geomorphological map of the area. The environmental valorisation of surroundings of the stronghold at Rękoraj was carried out to identify the most favorable areas for early medieval – type of agriculture.

Dla społeczności wczesnego średniowiecza najdogodniejszymi obszarami do zasiedlania były tereny o dużej geo- i bioróżnorodności, zaś preferowanymi formami geomorfologicznymi były terasy rzeczne zbudowane z piasków średnio- i drobnoziarnistych.
