The treatment of hard-to-heal wounds is still a serious interdisciplinary medical problem. In recent years, modern methods of physical medicine have been increasingly and successfully used to treat diseases and traumas of locomotor organs, soft tissues and chronic wounds. The paper presents the beneficial effect of the treatment of a postoperative wound in a 7-year-old patient with a cut injury to the right forearm using localised hyperbaric oxygen therapy. A series of 10 daily treatments led to complete healing of the wound after the performed surgery, provided pain relief, and improved the quality of life of the patient resulting from the recovery of unaided existence.

Leczenie trudno gojących się ran stanowi nadal poważny, interdyscyplinarny problem medyczny. W ostatnich latach w leczeniu schorzeń i urazów narządu ruchu, tkanek miękkich, a także przewlekłych ran coraz częściej z powodzeniem wykorzystywane są nowoczesne metody medycyny fizykalnej. W artykule przedstawiono korzystny efekt leczenia rany pooperacyjnej u 7-letniego pacjenta po urazie ciętym przedramienia prawego, po użyciu miejscowej hiperbarycznej terapii tlenowej. Po serii 10 codziennych zabiegów uzyskano całkowite wygojenie się rany po prze-prowadzonym zabiegu operacyjnym, ustąpienie dolegliwości bólowych, a także poprawę jakości życia pacjenta wynikającą z odzyskania samodzielnej egzystencji.
