A high percentage of patients undergoing physiotherapeutic treatment due to motor organ dysfunctions or neurologi­cal problems are the ones who additionally suffer from heart rhythm disorder (arrhythmia).This paper presents the most common types of heart rhythm disorders, the health risk factors they involve as well as the treatment methods. Some important aspects of kinesiotherapy and physiotherapy of patients treated pharmacologically or with implant­ed pacemaker or cardioverter-defibrillator have been considered. The general rules for contraindications against physiotherapy have also been raised. The significance of patient education, the psychical effects and safety during physiotherapy have been emphasized.
