For Early Medieval societies areas with high geo- and biodiversity were most suitable for settlement, whereas preferred landforms included river terraces formed by medium and fine sand. The analysis conducted by the Author resulted in elaboration of the terrain assessment maps, which were derived from a geomorphological map of the area. The environmental valorisation of surroundings of the stronghold at Rękoraj was carried out to identify the most favorable areas for early medieval – type of agriculture.

Dla społeczności wczesnego średniowiecza najdogodniejszymi obszarami do zasiedlania były tereny o dużej geo- i bioróżnorodności, zaś preferowanymi formami geomorfologicznymi były terasy rzeczne zbudowane z piasków średnio- i drobnoziarnistych. Przeprowadzone analizy pozwoliły na wykreślenie map waloryzacji, dla których punktem wyjścia była mapa geomorfologiczna obszaru. Waloryzację środowiska otoczenia grodziska w Rękoraju wykonano w celu wskazania obszarów, które były najkorzystniejsze dla gospodarki wczesnośredniowiecznej w warunkach „agrotechniki lekkiej”.
