A list of 32 threatened species was compiled on the basis of field investigations conducted during 1980-1989 in the Kraków province. Stability of particular species presence was considered together with the literature on the subject concerning the regional list of taxa threatened with extinction.

The paper presents a research carried out in the Łososina Valley in the Beskid Wyspowy Mts. on cereal and root-crops cultures in 1982-1984 and a similar research on cereal cultures in 1994-1995. The subject of both investigations were segetal weeds characterised by Warcholińska (1994) as threatened in the territory of Poland.

Seventeen years of phytosociological observations (1977-1993) of cereal cultures in the same complex of fields in the Miechów Upland were used for this study. The region is characterised by the most intensive agriculture in the Kraków area, because of very good soil (chernozems). The study concentrates mainly on rare species, considered threatened with extinction in the territory of Poland by Warcholińska (1994).
