Ocena ryzyka ekologicznego i/lub zdrowotnego wymaga uwzględnienia wzajemnych współoddziaływań występujących pomiędzy związkami zanieczyszczającymi środowisko. Obiecującym narzędziem wspomagającym ten cel są biotesty. Przeprowadzone studium literaturowe wskazuje na przydatność testu Microtox z użyciem bakterii Vibrio fischeri w badaniach zjawiska współoddziaływania substancji zarówno w warunkach modelowych jak i rzeczywistych.

Correctly carried out ecological/health hazard assessment requires taking into consideration specific interactions between environmental pollutants. These interactions can be examined by biotests. A literature review indicates the Microtox test usefulness for investigating interactions equally in artificial as well as real conditions.
