The effect of salinity on soybean germination and seedling growth has been studied. The result indicates that control and 0.2M gave a normal growth pattern on the soybean plant in all the growth parameters measured. Mean separation showed that high salt treatment showed the least growth values, while the optimal growth value was obtained from the control and 0.2M (which had a lesser salt application). All the treatment levels were significantly lesser than the control and 0.2M (p≥0.05) at all stages of the research in the growth parameters observed. It is recommended that the avoidance and desalination of salty soil will enhance the cultivation of soybeans for optimal productivity.
