Condyloma acuminatum is a HPV-induced disease that affects the mucosa and skin ofthe anorectum and genitalia. This condition rarely is observed in the oral mucosa. Theaim of this paper is to report a case of multiple condyloma acuminatum in the mouth ofa man aged 37 years. The patient is a smoker, HIV positive, and used antiretroviral drugsirregularly. Physical examination revealed the presence of multiple lesions of vegetativeaspect, whitish and arranged on the palate, tongue, lip, buccal mucosa and gums stai-ning. An incisional biopsy was performed and histopathological examination confirmedthe diagnosis. The treatment plan included the surgical removal and chemical cauteriza-tion with trichloroacetic acid lesions. However, some recurrences occurred during thecourse of treatment. This case demonstrates the importance of correct diagnosis andplanning for HPV-induced lesions due to the risk for recurrences.
