W pracy przedstawiono rezultaty kompleksowej fizjoterapii pacjenta w okresie zaostrzeń POChP w latach 1997-2005. Omówiono możliwości i efekty stymulacji laserem niskiej energii wybranych, biologicznie aktywnych, punktów (BAP) oraz jej wpływ na przyrost parametrów FVC, FEV1, PEF, a także wpływ stymulacji na tolerancję wysiłku fizycznego ocenioną na podstawie 6-minutowego testu marszu. Oceniono wydatek energetyczny pacjenta w METs i zmiany w subiektywnym odczuwaniu duszności na podstawie skali Borga. Uzyskane wyniki oraz poprawa parametrów spirometrycznych sugerują przydatność stymulacji laserem niskiej energii w fizjoterapii zaostrzeń POChP.

The article presents the effects of complex physiotherapy carried out in a group of patients during acute stages of COPD between 1997 and 2005. It discusses the effects and possibilities of application of low power laser stimulation on trigger points and its influence on the increase in FVC, FEV1, PEF parameters as well as on physical endurance levels assessed by means of the six-minute walking test. Energy expenditure was measured in METs, and Borg Scale was used to show changes in subjective perception of dyspnea. The obtained results as well as the improvement of spirometric test parameters indicate beneficial effects of low power laser stimulation in cases of patients with acute stages of COPD.
