The aim of research is to study the role of physical activity for rehabilitation of patients suffered from mild persistent asthma during their treatment at hospital. The study involved 30 patients being in hospital due to the exacerbation of asthmatic disease. The program of physical rehabilitation is based on the survey results of patients, paying attention to their functional state, rapid assessment of health and physical features of the disease. The use of dosed physical activity while physical rehabilitation of patients suffered from mild persistent asthma has improved functional status of their cardiovascular and respiratory systems, physical performance, quality of life, helped to control the disease.

Parkinson's disease (PD) is a degenerative disorder of the central nervous system. The main problems associated with losses at the motor level are: tremor, rigidity, postural instability and bradykinesia. Many publications related to rehabilitation in PD r efers to methods which are used to rehabilitate patients, but there is lack of significant amount of publications concerning tools to examine the effectiveness of these programs. The purpose of the work was to determine the suitability of Senior Fitness Te st (SFT) in the assessment of the effectiveness of physical rehabilitation of people with PD. The research was conducted in a group of 52 people (age 64.52 ± 7.56 years) with idiopathic PD disease (duration of the disease was 6.69 ± 4.93 years) in II stage in Hoehn & Yahr scale. Unified Parkinson's Disease Rating Scale (UPDRS) was used to determine the clinical status of patients. Parkinson's Disease Quality of Life Questionnaire (PDQL) was applied to determine the quality of life. The patients were divided into a group of participants and non -participants in the process of physical rehabilitation. Obtained results in the tests showed statistically significant differences between the groups in all the tests. The biggest absolute difference was observed in the Back Scratch test (308,33%). In order to achieve the main goal of the work, the correlation coefficients between the quality of life and the results of the SFT were calculated. The obtained results show that correlation between all the tests in both groups is at least moderate. The highest correlation was recorded in the "2 -minute walk" test in both groups. It was found that there is a relationship between SFT results and the quality of life of people with PD. SFT is a helpful tool in assessing the effect iveness of physical rehabilitation of people with PD.

The body posture, just like health, never stays the same. It changes in the ontogenetic process and the changes are often determined by internal (disease) and external factors (injury). Undoubtedly, breast cancer, its negative consequences and the treatment affect body posture of post-mastectomy women. The aim of this study was to evaluate body posture of women after mastectomy participating in the kinetic rehabilitation treatment for two years. The examined group consisted of 23 women after mastectomy who took part in the physiotherapeutic treatment twice a week for two years. Their body posture was assessed by means of the photogrammetric method. All the subjects were examined five times, every six months. The results were then statistically analysed (non-parametric tests: Wilcoxon matched-pairs signed-ranks test, Spearman rank correlation test and Friedman ANOVA test). This study confirms the necessity for regular and constant rehabilitation treatment after mastectomy, regardless of the time elapsed since the operation.

The aim of this paper is to verify a hypothesis that there is no legal definition of the notion of physiotherapist in Polish legal system. The task was to identify the source of the legal status of physiotherapists in Poland, preceded by an analysis of the existing legal order. Critical analysis of selected literature was used as the research method. The analytic method has also been used in the selection of sources of law and an analysis of their contents, which have been then synthesized in order to define the concept. The following conclusions are the result of the study. None of the existing sources of law contain the definition of a physiotherapist profession. Physiotherapist is a medical profession grounded on possession of the specialized education. Physiotherapists and their activities have been taken into account in the existing catalogue of the professions and services. A physiotherapist is a physical culture personnel representative.
