Quality of life is a new research field in the postmodern world. Results show that there are several factors beyond the material world which have an impact on our happiness and which can be influenced and developed by us. To transfer the knowledge that can help improve quality of life requires authentic channels. One of these channels could be the stratum of educated intellectuals as an influential group of society, but they are authentic only if their quality of life is really better than nonqualified population’s quality of life. We investigated this issue in Hungary. On the basis of empirical research, we compared university students’ quality of life indicators with those of common people of similar ages. The objective of this paper is to present the relevant results of this research, which show that a) the examined indicators of quality of life are not more favorable with university students than the same indicators with the non-student population; b) the quality of life indicators of female university students are worse in some respects than those of non-student women; c) the impact of some psychological factors is stronger with university students than with common persons. The major conclusion of this paper is that an appropriate intervention is needed in health education programs at universities in order to contribute to the improvement of students’ quality of life.

It is well-known that the poor exercise habits characterizing modern civilization are a high risk factor in health. Countervailing them is the responsibility of all social subsystems. This study aims to observe the role of higher education within the framework of comprehensive research carried out at the University of Pannonia, Hungary. A course meeting university standards has been developed for students, the future opinion-shapers, which intends to strengthen the health consciousness, the basis of physical fitness. The objective of the article is to prove the effectiveness of the course and its impact on lifestyle through a longitudinal study. Accordingly, it aims to answer the following questions: Can a change be observed in the factors of students’ psychological and health-related quality of life? Does the health consciousness developed by the course result in a more efficient health-enhancing physical activity? Does broadening knowledge provide long-term motivation for maintaining an active lifestyle? The efficiency of the course has been evaluated through changes observed in the participating students’ quality of life and health consciousness using the following methods: survey (N= 479), in-depth interview (N= 86), and triangulation. The results of the study support the basic assumption that the knowledge acquired in the course contributes in the short run to the students planning their health-preserving life-coaching more consciously, while quality of life indicators change in the long run. Consequently, it has been determined that the transmission of knowledge through the course is an undertakeable and successful endeavor of higher education in the field of health education.

The article presents the results of the study of changes in the level of physical fitness of students of a humanitarian university and military academy cadets based on the choice of the CrossFit program in the process of physical education. Materials and Methods: The young men (n=92), aged 1718 years, (two experimental and two control groups) took part in the study of the level of physical fitness. The study was conducted for 12 weeks. Experimental groups were engaged in the CrossFit program. The motivation for choosing the CrossFit program by the participants in the experiment (n=48) was determined using a specially designed questionnaire ʼThe Motives for Participating in Exercises Measureʼ on the example CrossFit. Results: For cadets, the results of sit-up and push-up have a significant increase (p<0.05). A more significant increase is observed in squats with kettlebell (7kg) and burpee (p<0.01, p<0.001). The results of students in sit-up, push-up, burpee have a significant increase (p<0.05). For participants in the experiment, the most common motives for choosing the CrossFit program for physical education classes were the following: ʼto adjust the body shape, make me more courageous and athletic, increase muscleʼ; ʼto increase my activity and vitalityʼ; ʼto improve my endurance, performance, reduce fatigue during physical loadsʼ. For students, motives for health promotion are of higher priority than for cadets. Conclusions: The result of the motivated use of the CrossFit program for 12 weeks was a significant improvement in the physical condition of the students and cadets.

Materiał i metody: Opracowano etapowy proces tworzenia protokołu audytu miejsc praktyki klinicznej. Aby przygotować audytorów, opracowano wirtualne, interaktywne zasoby dydaktyczne. Przeprowadzono analizę literatury, wywiady fokusowe w grupach nauczycieli akademickich, praktyków i studentów a także pilotażowe badanie protokołu w środowiskach potencjalnych beneficjentów.

Introduction: One of the important elements influencing the well-being of society is a highly educated, professional staff of the entire therapeutic team. Physiotherapists play a significant role in this team, which is why the higher education system is expected to make efforts to develop optimal education programs, including the development of practical skills. The purpose of this article is to present the Healint4All project, whose mission is to facilitate international internships for students of physiotherapy and other medical professions, which will allow high-class professionals in the healthcare sector to enter the job market. Material and methods: A step-by-step process of creating a protocol for auditing places of clinical practice was prepared. Virtual, interactive teaching resources were developed to prepare auditors. A literature analysis, focus interviews in groups of academic teachers, practitioners, and students. A pilot study of the protocol in live environments was conducted. Results: Both potential auditees (medical institutions) and auditors (universities) positively assessed the newly created tool. The recommendations included paying attention to transparency, simplicity, and linguistic correctness in all language versions of the protocol. It was suggested that the protocol, containing everything useful, should not be too long and would not burden the user with time. Conclusions: In the opinion of students and experts who evaluated the Healint4All protocol, it will contribute to increasing the supply and quality of international placements offered by healthcare organizations throughout Europe, as well as simplifying the processes involved in organizing these for students, educational institutions, and healthcare organizations.
