Zanieczyszczenia mykologiczne nadal pozostają najmniej poznanym komponentem bioaerozolu. Scharakteryzowano źródła zanieczyszczeń mykologicznych w bioaerozolu obszarów otwartych i pomieszczeń wewnątrzdomowych, specyfikę ich składu gatunkowego i czynniki warunkujące występowanie. Opisano także rodzaje najczęściej występujących w bioaerozolu grzybów alergennych: Alternaria, Aspergillus, Cladosporium, Penicillium oraz grzyby drożdżoidalne: Saccharomyces i Candida. Przedstawiono lokalizację i biochemiczną aktywność alergenów grzybowych, z uwzględnieniem alergicznego odziaływania mykotoksyn i lotnych związków organicznych. Scharakteryzowano źródła i symptomy mykoalergii wziewnej i pokarmowej.

Mycological pollution is presently the least known component of bioaerosol. Sources, species composition and factors determining occurrence of the mycological pollution of outdoor and indoor environments are described, as well as genera of the most common allergenic fungi of the bioaerosol: Alternaria, Aspergillus, Cladosporium, Penicillium and yeast genera: Saccharomyces and Candida. Location and a biochemical activity of fungal allergens are presented, including the allergenic activity of mycotoxins and of volatile organic compounds. Sources and symptoms of inhaled and ingested mycoallergies are also characterized.
