The collisional broadening and shift of 494.5 nm spectral line of neon arising from 2p^{5}3p-2p^{5}ns7s transition, emitted from a low-pressure glow discharge in pure neon and neon-helium mixtures have been measured. The values of pressure broadening and shift coefficients were determined. Experimental data of 494.5 nm line as well as our earlier results for spectral lines originating from the 2p^{5}3p-2p^{5}ns7s (n = 5, 6) transitions are compared with those resulting from the Kaulakys and Ueda theories of pressure effects on Rydberg states.

The extended Omont-Ueda-Kaulakys treatment of collisional effects on quasi-Rydberg states, which takes into account the perturbation of the lower state, is applied to Ar*-He, Ar*-Ne and Ar*-Ar systems. The pressure broadening and shift coefficients of spectral lines of argon involving the 3p^{5}ns (n = 6-9) and 3p^{5}nd (n = 4-8) states are determined and compared with those resulting from the experiment.

The experimental values of pressure broadening and shift coefficients of the ^{114}Cd 326.1 nm line perturbed by H_{2} and D_{2} are determined using a LIF technique and compared with theoretical values calculated from the impact theory.
