Materiał i metody. Badaniami objęto 47 osób, w przedziale wiekowym 19 - 31 lat, z niepełnosprawnością intelektualną umiarkowaną oraz znaczną. U osób tych dokonano pomiaru masy ciała, obliczono wskaźnik BMI oraz dokonano oceny sprawności motorycznej za pomocą testu "Eurofit Special". Zebrane informacje zostały poddane analizie statystycznej. Wyniki.
Background: In the population of people with intellectual disabilities (ID) there is a frequent occurrence of bone deformities and orthopedic problems affecting the feet as well. They are associated with a change of the loading of the feet. It affects the deterioration of the functional efficiency of the feet, often contributes to discomfort, pain and predisposes to the development of adverse changes in the upper body segments. The aim of the study was to assess the impact of intellectual disability in participants with aetiology other than Down’s syndrome on longitudinal arching and symmetry of lateral and medial load of the foot. Materials and methods: There were 38 participants with mild and moderate intellectual disability, with an average age of 23 years and 44 young non-disabled people with an average age of 20.8 under research. The main measurement tool used to assess the arching and loading the foot zones was the BTS P-WALK platform. The measurement included analysis in terms of statics and lasted 30s. Results: The comparison of both groups showed no significant differentiation in the medial and lateral load of the forefoot and rearfoot. Among people with ID correct arches of the feet were observed in 52.6% of participants in the right foot and 57.9% of the left foot, while in the control group in 56.9% in both the right and left foot. People with intellectual disabilities were characterized by a higher rate of flatfoot in relation to the control group. The hollow foot was more frequently observed in control group than in people with ID. Conclusions: In people with intellectual disabilities with aetiology other than Down’s syndrome, flat feet are diagnosed more often than in healthy peers who do not differ in body weight and BMI. Intellectual disability is associated with a greater loading of the medial part of the forefoot.

Materiał i metody: Badaniami objęto 38 osób z niepełnosprawnością intelektualną w stopniu lekkim i umiarkowanym, o średniej wieku 23 lata oraz 44 młode pełnosprawne osoby, o średniej wieku 20,8. Pomiar obejmował analizę w warunkach statyki i trwał 30s. Wyniki: Porównanie obu grup wykazało brak znaczącego zróżnicowania w zakresie obciążenia przyśrodkowej i bocznej części przodo– i tyłostopia. Wśród osób z ID prawidłowe wysklepienie stopy zaobserwowano u 52,6 % badanych w obrębie stopy prawej i 57,9 % stopy lewej, natomiast w grupie porównawczej u 56,9 % zarówno w stopie prawej, jak i lewej.

Physiotherapy, as a constantly evolving discipline, requires professionals to continually update their knowledge base to enhance patient care. To facilitate this growth, lifelong learning through supplementary educational courses plays a crucial role. The flexible online education has opened new opportunities for adult learners, including physiotherapists, to pursue further education while managing their daily commitments. This paper examines the conceptual framework of online learning in the context of physiotherapy education. It explores the advantages and disadvantages of online courses compared to traditional classroom methods. Online education is classified into three primary types: synchronous, asynchronous, and blended or hybrid courses. Synchronous courses involve real-time interaction with teachers, while asynchronous courses allow learners to access materials at their own convenience. Blended or hybrid courses combine online learning with face-to-face instruction. Advantages of online courses include accessibility, flexibility, cost-effectiveness, diverse learning resources, and the opportunity to build a global professional network. On the other hand, online courses lack continuous communication and interaction between teachers and learners, potentially hindering the learning experience. Learners must possess strong digital skills and self-study capabilities to succeed in online education. The study concludes that the choice between traditional and online education depends on specific course objectives and participant expectations. Regardless of the mode of education, the active participation and engagement of learners are crucial for professional success. As the field of physiotherapy education continues to evolve, ongoing research and innovation are vital to improve the overall learning experience and ensure optimal outcomes for lifelong learners in the healthcare field.
