Within the framework of a Bianchi type-II (BII) cosmological model the behavior of matter distribution has been considered. It is shown that the non-zero off-diagonal component of the Einstein tensor implies some severe restrictions on the choice of matter distribution. In particular, for a locally rotationally symmetric Bianchi type-II (LRS BII) space-time, it is proved that the matter distribution should be strictly isotropic if the corresponding matter field possesses only non-zero diagonal components of the energy-momentum tensor.

Different characteristics of matter influencing the evolution of the uUniverse haves been simulated by means of a nonlinear spinor field. We have considered two cases where the spinor field nonlinearity occurs either as a result of self-action or due to the interaction with a scalar field.

A Bianchi type-I cosmological model in the presence of a magnetic flux along a cosmological string is investigated. The objective of this study is to generate solutions to the Einstein equations using a few tractable assumptions usually accepted in the literature. The analytical solutions are supplemented with numerical and qualitative analysis. In the frame of the present model the evolution of the Universe and other physical aspects are discussed.

We consider an interacting system of massless scalar and electromagnetic fields, with the Lagrangian explicitly depending on the electromagnetic potentials, i.e., interaction with broken gauge invariance. The Lagrangian for interaction is chosen in such a way that the electromagnetic field equation acquires an additional term, which in some cases is proportional to the vector potential of the electromagnetic field. This equation can be interpreted as the equation of motion of photon with induced nonzero rest-mass. This system of interacting fields is considered within the scope of Bianchi type-I (BI) cosmological model. It is shown that, as a result of interaction the isotropization process of the expansion takes place.
