We present a study of the magnetic properties of a mixed ferro-ferrimag-netic ternary alloy of the type AB_p C_{1-p} on a cubic lattice consisting of three different Ising spins S_A =3/2, S_B = 2, and S_C = 5/2. We employ the mean-field approximation and Monte Carlo simulation to find the compensation temperatures of the system for selected values of the parameters in the model Hamiltonian. In particular, the relation between considered mixed ferro-ferrimagnetic model and magnetic properties of the ternary metal Prussian blue analog such as (Fe_p^{II}Mn_{1-p}^{II})_1.5 [Cr^{III}(CN)_6] · nH_2O is discussed.

The influence of non-magnetic central node defect on magnetic hysteresis of regular square-shaped segment of magnetic dot array with perpendicular uniaxial anisotropy under the thermal activation was investigated via computer simulations based on stochastic Landau-Lifshitz-Gilbert equation. The aim of this study is to point out the simultaneous effect of anisotropy and thermal activation to the dynamical properties of magnetic dot arrays.

The traditional method of analysing a time series of stocks and funds is to use simple Pearson correlations. However, experience shows that cross-correlations are not an accurate indicator of the mutual ownership relations. We show that the minimum spanning tree methodology, previously used to perform more comprehensive studies of asset returns correlations, can be used to deduce the underlying ownership structure with reasonable accuracy. We also show that adjusting the time series for a common trend of stocks and subsequent filtering of the short term variations of returns using the ARIMA model is a prerequisite for this application of the minimum spanning tree.

Current-induced steady precessional modes in standard spin valves are usually excited as an interplay of spin-transfer torque, Gilbert damping, and external magnetic field. We propose an asymmetric spin valve, in which the spin current can excite stationary precessional modes also at zero external magnetic field. We also show that finite temperature can induce transitions between different dynamical modes. These transitions, in turn, lead to telegraph noise in magnetoresistance.

In the present work the behaviour of cluster excitations in magnetic field, B, parallel to the easy axis was experimentally studied by the measurements of KEr(MoO_{4})_{2} and CsDy(MoO_{4})_{2} specific heat, C, vs. B dependence studied at a constant temperature. Corresponding Monte Carlo simulations of C revealed that despite of the fact that the Ising exchange-coupling models proved useful for a sufficient description of the specific heat of these dipolar systems in B=0, the analysis of current experimental data requires a partial renormalization of exchange-coupling constants previously obtained from B=0 analysis. The influence of crystal field effects and long-range character of spin correlations is discussed.
