Purpose. The study is aimed at showing the state of educational needs of physical education (PE) teachers in the light of the new educational program as well as presenting their opinions about the implementation of some elements of the up-to-date physical education didactics (on the example of teachers in the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship). Basic procedures. The survey was conducted in March 2009 among 118 people (including 63 men and 55 women) - PE teachers of various working experience (1 to 36 years of work experience), from randomly chosen primary schools (PS) and secondary schools called gymnasium (G) in the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship. Main findings. The analysed views of PE teachers of primary schools and gymnasia of the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship allow us to state that the teachers notice a need to use basic elements of the up-to-date physical education didactics. They expect concrete materials on the educational program of physical education for 2009. The highest percentage of PE teachers (up to ca. 80%) would like to make use of information on proposals for up-to-date forms of exercises, health-giving training and lifelong sporting activities. Over 70% of them feel the need for materials on pupils' activation and individualisation in PE classes and descriptions of how to use activating methods (ca. 68%). A high percentage, amounting up to 62%, think that these materials should concern methods in health education, and 58.5% (including 66.7% of PS and 50.8% of SS) want to learn about proposals for activities which develop pupils' health. Conclusions. Physical education teachers employed at elementary schools and gymnasia in the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship, regardless of sex and work experience, support the educational program of physical education. Regarding the usage of various diagnostic tools, it was found out that there are statistically significant differences between elementary school teachers and gymnasia ones. Physical education teachers, regardless of school type, sex and work experience, emphasize the need for training in the didactics of their subject and in health education.

Abstract "The horse is what everyone sees", as defined by a horse in 1746, Father Benedict Chmielowski. However, not everyone knows what makes this beautiful animal plays an invaluable role in physical recreation. Paleontologists analyzed the famous wall drawings in the caves of Pech-Marle suggests that there silhouettes of horses presented testify about the magic powers attributed to them, preventing human illness and assist its life energy. The work aims to raise awareness of people as a huge positive impact horses have on the development of children and adults at all levels of their lives and how much they can do good for them. One of the forms of contact with a horse, ride and "the life of the stable" is riding camp, which describes aspects of the job. In this paper, erected the following objectives: 1) The selection criteria for participants in specific equestrian center. 2) To investigate the involvement and the scheme of work instructors. 3) Determining the organization of free time after the completion of all activities foreseen in the camp. 4) Examine the views of children and young people about riding camps as a means of active rest. 5) Gathering information on the experiences of the respondents after their stay at the camp bonuses. 2) Zbadanie zaangażowania i systematyki pracy instruktorów.

Flexibility is one of the elements – components which support physical fitness and health as well (Howley, Franks, 1997; Bouchard, Shephard, 1994; Skinner, Oja, 1994). The purpose of this paper was to assess the impact of additional flexibility exercises on physical fitness in lower secondary school students, evaluated by means of IPFT (the International Physical Fitness Test). The study was conducted in two experimental groups, where extra flexibility exercises were added to all obligatory PE lessons, and one control group. 1. The decreased standard deviation observed in particular IPFT attempts in the experimental class is the correct tendency showing the favorable influence of flexibility exercises on students’ physical fitness and health. 2. An improvement and considerably better, though statistically insignificant, results were obtained by the students involved in the additional exercises, in all assessed motor skills (strength, speed, endurance and flexibility) and in the scoring reflecting the level of physical fitness. 3. After one year of exercises the control group had worse average results in two attempts – 50 m run (to assess speed) and standing forward bend (to measure flexibility). This trend indicates the importance of flexibility exercises as regards speed and agility.

Introduction. In addition to knowledge and aptitude, practical skills are necessary to competently pursue every profession. For students, teaching practice is the first opportunity to confront knowledge and skills acquired at university with school reality. The goal of this study was the self-esteem of didactic and educational skills among full-time and extramural Physical Education students of Kazimierz Wielki University in Bydgoszcz participating in teaching practice as well as the comparison of their self-esteem with the assessment of teachers − placement supervisors. Material and Methods. A total of 625 Physical Education students of Kazimierz Wielki University in Bydgoszcz and the same number of placement supervisors were involved in the study. The diagnostic survey method was carried out to collect the data. The questionnaire technique was used. Results. Based on the conducted research, the following conclusions were formulated: the majority of full-time and extramural students assessed their didactic and educational skills as good or very good, both full-time and extramural students were very well prepared for teaching practice in Physical Education, and the assessments of teaching practice supervisors, in principle, were higher than the self-esteem expressed by student teachers (p = 0.0000 for the Z test).

Introduction: The presence of background HCV infection cannot be overestimated in view of the prevalence of chronic hepatitis C and the risk of adverse outcomes of this disease. Purpose of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of the combined use of antiviral therapy (Roferon + Vero-Ribavirin) and resort factors in patients with chronic hepatitis C in the phase of replication. Material and methods: We observed 48 patients with chronic hepatitis C; the minimum level of activity of the process defined the phase of replication. Markers of HCV infection were determined by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) (a-HCV and HCV-Ig M). HCV RNA was determined twice by the polymerase chain reaction (PCR). Genotyping of hepatitis C virus was performed. Biochemical blood analysis and the study of HCV infection markers were carried out four times. Results of therapy were assessed immediately after the end of the resort (spa) treatment, then at 3, 6 and 12 months after starting treatment. At 12 months after starting treatment, all the observed patients had persistent clinical and biochemical remission. Elimination of the virus from the blood was noted in 56% of the control group and 74% of patients in the study group. Conclusions: For patients with moderately active HCV, the replication phase was characterized by asthenic-vegetative syndrome (100% of patients) with severe depression (22.92%), pain (77.08%) and dyspeptic syndrome (33.33%), moderate hypertransferaseemia (100%), slightly pronounced cholestasis (33% of patients), and signs of mesenchymal- inflammatory response.
