The aim of the study was to examine and discuss the geological and spatial conditions of the Kościerzyna circular structure. The main methodological assumptions of the presented research were based on a few basic analysis. The elevation map of the pre-Quaternary surface, the Quaternary thickness map as well as geological cross-sections were done based on the available archival materials. These objectives were achieved by analyzing data from 249 archival boreholes that are stored at the Central Geological Database (CBDG) as well as the National Geological Archives (NAG) and the BankHydro database. The model of the Miocene surface reveals the existence of a deep, approximately circular depression. Its characteristic feature is the presence of a central “high”. The whole structure is buried under Quaternary succession containing sediments of almost all glaciations that affected the Polish Lowlands and has undergone reshaping by glacial erosion and accumulation.
