Contact lens fitting in children still raises great deal of controversy, both for parents and eye care practitioners. This article is an attempt to find answers for the most common questions regarding pediatric contact lens fitting through data analysis of a range of recent studies and publications. The most frequent questions to be answered are connected with considerations for prescribing a refraction correction, safety of contact lens wear and children capability to handle contact lenses and comply

Stosowanie soczewek kontaktowych u dzieci często budzi wiele kontrowersji i wątpliwości zarówno wśród specjalistów, jak i wśród rodziców. W tym artykule spróbujemy odpowiedzieć na najczęściej pojawiające się pytania dotyczące aplikacji soczewek kontaktowych u dzieci na podstawie wyników badań i prac naukowych z ostatnich lat. W kontekście kontaktologii pediatrycznej najczęściej pojawiają się wątpliwości dotyczące wartości wady wzroku, przy której należy wprowadzić korekcję u dzieci w różnym wieku, oraz tego, czy noszenie soczewek kontaktowych jest bezpieczne i czy rodzice lub dzieci poradzą sobie z ich użytkowaniem.
