Pain syndromes of the cervical spine are becoming more common cause of significant disability. Most patients with chronic neck symptoms fit into category of nonspecific neck pain which etiology is multifactorial and not yet fully elucidated. The majority of neck pain syndromes has no objective diagnostic criteria, the causa treatment is not possible, therefore treatment is often limited to reducing of symptoms and improving the patients’ functioning. Currently it is difficult to treat patients with neck pain according to the principles of evidencebased medicine as most commonly used forms of therapy such as anti-inflammatory agents, analgesic, tricyclic antidepressant, psychotherapy, patient education, physiotherapy have not been sufficiently tested, and the value of existing research is uncertain.
