A facile and efficient protocol for the synthesis of polyfunctionalized 4H-pyran derivatives and its antimicrobial evaluation

A series of novel 4H-pyran derivatives containing thiophene were designed and synthesized via Domino Knoevenagel condensation–Michael addition–intramolecular O-cyclization sequence in a clean, efficient and straight forward manner. Characterizations of synthesized compounds were done by various spectroscopic techniques like IR, NMR and Mass spectrometry. All synthesized compounds have been screened against four anti-bacterial and two anti-fungal species. Among synthesized compound, no one is relatively active against antimicrobial.
