Pigment epithelial detachment is a common pathology occurring in various retinal diseases. This diagnosis is used very often, but not always in the correct sense and without a clear distinction between its types. Different pathogenesis and type of lesions are associated with characteristic features in fluorescein angiography, autofluorescence, spectral optical coherent tomography and angiographic examination based on optical coherent tomography. In this article we will try to draw attention to the essential elements used in daily practice multimodal diagnosis of this pathology which allows us correctly determine its type, natural course and therapeutic management.
