The way people deal with goals in life depends, to some degree, on the resources they have. Goals people choose and effectiveness in which they are fulfilled is related to personal resources, such as personal beliefs and tendencies to react affectively. In the present paper the role of resources favorable for effective functioning is discussed. The newest theoretical conceptions integrating the role of diverse personal resources in seeking the common core of positive beliefs and other personality variables are indicated. Directions of the series of the author’s research investigating the role of personal resources in the process of goal realization, activity engagement, and success in action are also described.
