W dniach 18–19 maja 2018 r. odbyła się międzynarodowa konferencja EOTTD (European Organisation for Treatment of Trophoblastic Disease), zorganizowana we współpracy z sekcją onkologiczną Royal Society of Medicine. Obradowano w siedzibie Royal Society of Medicine w Londynie, a spotkaniu przewodniczył obecny prezydent EOTTD – prof. Michael Seckl, wybitny onkolog i największy autorytet w dziedzinie nowotworów trofoblastu (gestational trophoblastic neoplasm, GTN). W odróżnieniu od często wielotysięcznych międzynarodowych konferencji onkologicznych w spotkaniu EOTTD brało udział jedynie osiemdziesięciu lekarzy i naukowców z całego świata, głównie z Europy, w tym dwoje z Polski.
