Introduction: Surgical treatment of rectovaginal fistula is associated with high risk of failure.
Case report: We describe an original method of surgical treatment of rectovaginal fistulas using collagen matrix. Surgery involves the complete excision of the inflamed tissue and layered stitching of the resulting cavity using flaps transferred from rectal and vaginal walls. The TachoSil matrix was used to tighten and reinforce the suture in a rectal wall with good results.
