A basic task of forest reserves, apart from conservation
of gene resources of the entire flora and fauna, is great care
taken to preserve gene pools of native tree species. In strict
reserves forest succession in its striving for climax eliminates admixed tre species. It is only in partially protected
reserves that protected tree species belong to admixed ones
may be preserved through application of renovating cutting
down of trees.
