The investigation of the RNA level during germination and growth of the corn root (Zea Mays L.). II. Changes of the RNA level in the root tip
Languages of publication
Abstracts
During the 14 days period of development of the corn root the decrease of
dry mass, ribosomal and Iow molecular RNA content was observed in the 10-mm
root tip. The changes are statistically significant and they are of higher
values during the first 4 days of germination. The continuous decrease of
the dry mass content and RNA suggests that during the tested period of time
the number of cells decreases, probably because of the reduction of the meristemic
zone.
