Abstracts
Polyhydroxyalkanoic acids (PHAs) are insoluble in water, thermplastic, biocompatible and biodegradation plastics. These poliesters are synthetized by a variety of microorganisms.Polymer cumulation in bacterai, metabolic pathways of PHA and their significance for living cells are discussed.Structure and biochemistry of bacteral PHAs, chemical composition and physical properties, methods of polymer detection and analysis are described.Polymer production for commercial use and possible applications of this natural plastic are discussed.
