Simple formula for computing irradiance attenuation in the Gulf of Gdansk waters in a func-tion of chlorophyll a concentration is obtained on the basis of field data. In its derivation, the relationship between Secchi depth and diffuse attenuation coefficient of visible irradiance was applied.
