C-banding of Amara aenea Calathus erratus, and Harpalus picipennis are presented. The results indicate that in chromosomes of the investigated species the constitutive heterochromatine is mainly located in the proximity of the centromers.Only the first pair of autosomes of A.aenea has a large terminal band and thin intercalar segment and the X chromosome of H.picipennis has a thin intercalar C-positive segment.
