Stability of stereoregular oligonucleotides towards selected nucleases, as well as the thermal stability of duplexes formed with DNA and RNa were investigated.Other strategies leading to antisense oligonucleotides try to avoid P-chirality by replacement of phosphates with achiral phosphorodithioates or moities like formacetal, sulphones, dietylsiloxanes etc.
