Dodatkowo opisane zostały techniki obrazowania plazmodesm - wczoraj i dziś.

Plasmodesmata, cytoplasmic transport channels present in the cell wall form a communication network in the plant body. The nutrients mainly move by plasmodesmata thus changes in the permeability of these channels are important for optimal growth and development of plants. The paper presents a general construction of plasmodesmata with various modifications in the structure. Changes in the permeability of plasmodesmata under the influence of abiotic stresses in the relation to the symplasmic transport efficiency are also discussed. In addition, imaging techniques of plasmodesmata — past and present have been described.
