Summary The Western Polesie is situated on the very western outskirts of great Eastern European area of bogs and moors, located in the basin of the Prypec River. Two areas under protection are The International Biospere Reserve 'Polesie Zachodnie' and the Regional Landscape Park 'Prypeć - Stochid'. They both remain in major knots of ecological structure of the region and play a major role in conserving biological diversity and flora abundance. Analysis of available data shows threats and abundance of 142 vascular plant species that can be found in the above mentioned protected areas. Majority of species are qualified as medium-risk: vulnerable (V) and rare (R). Numerous plants, especially in RLP 'Prypeć - Stochid' are labelled (I) - not sure how vulnerable they really are. Among analysed species most numerous were moor, water, and forest species (mainly oak-horbeam forest species). Major difference in habitat spectra occurs among thermophilous scrub and oak wood. In western part of Polesye, those species are found in greater abundance. Details of these analysis are presented and further directions of research delineated.
