We review the recently developed bipartite composite fermion model for the excitations of the so-called Pfaffian state, a promising model for the fractional quantum Hall effect at the Landau level filling factor ν = 5/2. In particular, we demonstrate a necessary ingredient of the non-Abelian braid statistics, namely the degeneracy of spatially indistinguishable configurations of widely separated quasiparticles.
